Gucci with Bucci: Parents Day
by Chris Bucci on Friday, October 16th, 2015
What’s up Milton?
I would like to especially welcome all parents to this wonderful campus, the breeding ground of champions and the resting place of many Benjamins. Milton can be overwhelming for students, so it’s no wonder that this busy day is populated with weary-eyed students and a Stu full of passed out parents. Luckily for all you, this isn’t my first rodeo, and I have consulted my notes from previous Parents Days and developed a strategy to make this year’s day prime.
Here are my tips:
Parents: Don’t worry about anyone else. If you see Kevin Ryu’s (I) parents wandering around looking confused, ignore them. That’s their problem.
Students: Show your parents around the school. Tours don’t go down to the basement of the AMC…
Parents: Brag about your child. Your little hardo is Harvard bound, and now everyone knows it.
Students: Introduce your parents to the Milton culture. Shoulder pads and perms aren’t a thing anymore.
Parents: Don’t overreact to your child’s comments. Shoutout to my parents, Michael and Stephanie Bucci.
Students: Have your parents buy something at the bookstore. Remind them about the Parents Weekend Sale: Everything is 50% off!
Parents: Capture the day forever with photographs. Plus you’ll get mad likes on your Insta.
Students: Actually do your homework for once.
If you follow all my advice, Parents Day will be an even greater success than the 2015 Boys Lacrosse season. Today is all about learning, so don’t get caught up with small details like morning assemblies or bathing. If you need a little more help navigating Parents Day or just want to say hi, feel free to stop me in the hallways or give me a call at 617-GWB-UCCI.
