TMM Dominates in H4H

On January 21, 2015, sweat and tears were shed, rivalries were reborn, and scores were settled in the annual Hoops for Haiti Tournament. Just five years and nine days after the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti, 15 teams comprised of six to seven players each competed in the fifth annual tournament in a joint effort to raise money to aid the people of Haiti, who are still recovering from the disaster. With over 100 participants, the tournament raised several hundreds of dollars for the cause. This money will be used to buy medicine, food, and shelter for the people of Haiti.
While the main purpose of the tournament is always to raise money in a fun and relaxed environment, competition filled the air as each team was hungry to win; however, there could be only one champion. After a long, hard-fought, and competitive tournament by all teams, Team Stenhouse and the Boys took down Team Glory Boyz in an exhilarating championship game. Additionally, the annual match against the Milton Measure and the Milton Paper, in which the editorial boards of the two publications play against one another to determine bragging rights for the year, ended in a victory for the good guys. The Milton Measure defeated The Milton Paper by a score of 8-4 (8-1 if you don’t count the points scored by an ineligible member of TMP.)
Organizer Cassie Warwick said that the event “ran really smoothly and was a lot of fun!” There were many exciting games, and many teams exhibited their best uniforms to add the to the competitive nature of the event. Overall, the tournament was once again a great success and will continue to be a fun, exciting way for Milton to support the people of Haiti in their long and difficult process of recovery.
