Girl’s Soccer Scores Big

The Milton Girl’s Varsity Soccer Team is looking forward to a very successful season. After losing eight seniors from the class of 2014, the team has gained seven new players: Jenny Feeny (III), Dani Black (III), Jen Costa (III), Sara Willwerth (III), Ellie Lachenauer (III), Molly Tong (III), and Zoe Pottow (II). Captains Niki Young (I) and Michaela Brickley (I) are excited about the team’s new players and are confident that they will contribute to the team’s success. In fact, Young believes that “no one player will outshine the others. Instead, this season will be more of a group effort and the goals will be spread throughout the entire team.” Although the team dynamic has shifted from an upperclassmen-dominated roster to one more comprised of underclassmen, Young also explained “the three seniors this year are all very enthusiastic and excited about the season to come.”
In addition to the numerous underclassmen, a new faculty member has joined the coaching ranks of the “Wolfpack” this Fall: Coach Mac. Coach Mac, according to Brickley, is a “valuable addition.”
Despite a tough loss on Wednesday to Phillips-Andover, both captains are excited about the season to come, and are confident that they will be able to tally more wins than losses by the end of the season. Their goal is to make it all the way to the postseason.
