Cam Park Bids Milton Adieu
by Cameron Park on Tuesday, April 15th, 2014
When I was told that this year would go by quickly, I really did not believe it. But now, with less than two months until graduation, I have realized that this year went by quicker than I could have imagined. It has also been more fun and more incredible than I could have imagined as well. It has been an honor being your Head Monitor, and I am sad to say “Goodbye,” because I have loved every minute of my four years here.
I hope you grow to love Milton as much as I do. My only regret is not getting hypnotized, and I hope when you look back on your four years, you won’t have any regrets. Milton has so many opportunities, and if you are willing to take advantage of them, you might find yourself doing things you never dreamed of. I have been white water kayaking; I sang a High School Musical duet of “Breaking Free” with Liam; I even acted in my first play (even though I was only in one scene). There are so many cool things to do here, and I hope throughout your Milton career you find the time to challenge yourselves and do something you have never done before. When you step out of your comfort zone, you not only try awesome things, but also meet amazing people.
Everyone here has something unique and incredible to offer, and I hope you meet as many of these people as possible. Say hello, even if you have never talked to them before, even if they seem completely different from you. This year, Liam and I tried to start making those connections with the Olympus teams. We wanted to give people the opportunity to meet someone new, and even though it didn’t work out exactly as we had planned, we hope that in the future you uphold this tradition, but continue to make it better. We hope you change the games so that they are more successful, and we hope that, even outside of the games, you challenge yourselves everyday to step out of your comfort zone and meet all of the incredible people at Milton. This school truly offers incredible opportunities.
Thank you for a fantastic year, and I hope you have even better years to come. Peace out.
