Milton Baseball Gets Ready for a Great Season
by Tucker Hamlin on Thursday, March 8th, 2012
As February turns to March, students of all ages head outside to enjoy the early stages of spring. For the first time in months, Milton students get to go outside and enjoy fresh air. The Quad turns from a cold, empty ground, into a place of relaxation and happiness. With the onset of spring, students have become immediately excited about the spring sports season, especially baseball.
For the Milton Academy Varsity Baseball team, it looks to be a promising year. Filled with all types of talent, the team is moving on from a 9-5 record from a year ago with new goals heading into this year. Led by captains, Tyler Starks (I), Jared Friedberg (I), and Brooks English (I), the team is heading into the spring to have one of the best teams Milton has had over the past few years. The teams schedule is includes a number of ISL powerhouses, such as Thayer and St. Sebastian’s, but Captain Jared Friedberg says, “every game is a big game.” Both the Thayer and St. Seb’s game is home with the former on the 25th of April and the latter on the 9th of May.
The team is a strong one, built with veteran talent and young players looking to make a name for themselves. The baseball team looks to finish off this year of Milton athletics on a strong note in competing for an ISL Championship.
